Dr Erin Beal
Chestnut Psychology is a Sheffield-based clinical psychology and neuropsychology practice founded and led by Dr Erin M. Beal, an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with specialist training in neuropsychology. We work with adults experiencing cognitive, emotional and psychological difficulties — including people living with acquired brain injury, stroke and other neurological conditions, as well as autistic and ADHD adults seeking understanding and support.
Our work is evidence-based and neurodiversity-affirming. We seek to understand the whole person and their context — not simply to apply a label.
Alongside Dr Beal, our associate psychologists bring years of clinical experience across NHS neuropsychology services and a strong academic foundation in neuropsychology, trauma and psychological science. Whether through assessment, rehabilitation or therapy, every piece of work is delivered in a space that is inclusive, respectful and empowering.

If you're unsure whether we're the right fit, please get in touch — we'll always be honest about suitability.
We practise from a neuroaffirmative, trauma-informed framework. Neurodivergence is not something to be "treated" or "cured" — we seek to understand and validate identity.
Therapy is grounded in approaches with a strong evidence base — including CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) — within an integrative clinical-psychology framework.
All work is completed in accordance with NICE guidance and national best-practice standards.
